Privacy policy – oddsguaranteed
Running an information site about odds and offers takes little personal data, and oddsguaranteed processes only that. The UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018 govern the work, and this policy carries out the duty to inform under Article 13 of the UK GDPR.
Controller
Under Article 4(7) UK GDPR the controller is whoever operates oddsguaranteed. Name, address and e-mail address can be found at oddsguaranteed.com, the same place to send any question about personal data.
Data and how long it is kept
Each request for a page produces a log entry on the server: IP address, date and time, requested address, amount of data transferred, referring page and browser type. Security and the detection of abuse are the purposes, and the entries are deleted or shortened after 90 days so that they identify nobody. Writing to the editors supplies a name, an e-mail address and the message, which serve only for the reply and are kept until the matter is closed and as long as is needed to answer claims. Supplying them is voluntary, but a reply cannot be sent without them. The site has no reader accounts, deposits or bets, and so holds no payment details or identity documents.
Grounds
Logs, abuse protection and replies to messages rest on the controller’s legitimate interests in running a secure and working site (Article 6(1)(f) UK GDPR). Non-essential cookies and audience measurement require consent (Article 6(1)(a) UK GDPR with regulation 6 of PECR), and nothing runs before it is given. Consent may be withdrawn at any moment, leaving earlier processing untouched (Article 7(3)). Automated decision-making and profiling are not used.
Recipients and transfers
Data is never sold. Hosting, content delivery and e-mail are supplied by processors who follow the controller’s instructions (Article 28 UK GDPR), and public authorities receive data if the law says so. Transfers outside the United Kingdom happen only to countries under adequacy regulations or with appropriate safeguards, namely the International Data Transfer Agreement or the UK Addendum (Article 44 onwards).
Rights of individuals
Anyone can request access (Article 15), rectification (Article 16), erasure (Article 17), restriction of processing (Article 18) or data portability (Article 20), and can object to processing based on legitimate interests (Article 21). The reply comes without undue delay and within one month of receipt, extendable by a further two months where needed under Article 12(3).
Supervisory authority
The Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO) supervises data protection. Anyone who considers that their data is processed in breach of the law may complain to it (Article 77 UK GDPR).
